i made this meal the other day

pan grilled chicken

corn on the cob

and fried okra

no recipe required,,,season and grill the chicken in butter, boil corn, and coat okra in cornmeal and fry in oil...voila! amazingness!

doing dishes by candlelight...

...makes it almost enjoyable

well see how clean they are in the morning...

i interrupt previously scheduled posting to bring you: brunch!

so hubby didnt have to go to work until noon yesterday so i decided to make us brunch!

we love love LOVE tower cafe and especially love their "famous french toast"

if you are ever anywhere near sacramento go there! in fact, if i would probably make a trip just to go there!

seriously though its i probably the best french toast in the entire world

im not kidding its that good

so anyway i decided to make my own version of it

(maybe ill post my recipe later)

it was cloudy and kind of dark outside so i used some candles and candlesticks from here

we also had mimosas, turkey bacon, and fruit

we also listened to the mix that we played during our wedding while eating...but thats just because its the perfect music to listen to while eating, since thats precisely what i chose it for

and when we went shopping sunday night for the stuff we needed to make brunch, hubby bought me these flowers cause he knows how much i love having flowers in the house!

it was such a scrummy and nice brunch and i got to sip on mimosas the rest of the morning while i did the dishes ♥

it's beginning to look a lot like christmas

but here are my thanksgiving decorations

i must admit it is difficult for me to not just skip thanksgiving and move on to christmas cause i love it so much

...but i do try to restrain myself

( i did however go crazy on the christmas decorating as soon as i got back to town...i just couldnt contain myself any longer)

most of these decorations are from thrift stores

i had a fabulous thanksgiving and ate far too much good food!

we traveled to my aunts for thanksgiving

they live out in the country so hubbers had some fun shooting guns with my cousin

i made this delicious pie! i make it every year its to die for! this year i even made my own graham cracker crust cause i wanted to you my pie plate! it was super easy and so yummy (unfortunatly we devoured it before i thought to take a pic...oh well, just shows how good it is)

i did end up doing some shopping on black friday (not really my thing)

but it wasnt until about noon, and only cause we went to visit these lil punkins and mr. big punkin wanted to go to the "robot store" aka target :)

hope your thanksgiving was filled with family, friends, yummy food

so i know halloween is over...

well it kind of crept up on me so i never posted the rest of my decor

i never even finished my decor... i did make these sparkly pumpkins for my counter though

but heres just a sneak peek at what i did on our table

most of my decorations come from thrift stores or the dollar tree except for the jewlery tree which i did once use for its original purpose but never set it back up when we moved over a year ago (though i did use it for decor at the wedding, so thats partially why), and the sign was from walmart last year and the orange laugh candle i got there on clearance this year

the pumpkin and ghost candle are from the goodwill and the crow is from the dollar tree

let me just tell you... dollar tree has the best decorations!

...im so serious, some of it does need to be spruced up so it doesnt look so cheapy but most of it actually looks great and it is cheap!

the only problem is you have to get it a couple month ahead because they already have whats left of the halloween and thanksgiving decor in one small section and christmas it taking over the place (yes i relize neither of these holidays have passed yet, the world is going crazy)

..so go there and get your christmas decorations now...im serious, if you wait till anywhere near december all the good stuff will be gone!

lets start with waffles

so i have a LOT to catch up on... the wedding, honeymoon, bridal shower, shopping, crafting, cooking, and everything else from the summer

...but im starting with waffles! yum!

hubbers and i LOVE waffles and we've been using this baby almost everyday... seriously

we received the waffle maker from one of my best friends and old room mate. it was actually a little surprise because it had com in the mail while we were on our honeymoon and when my mother-in-law brought it inside a cabinet got put on top of it (more on that later) and it took me about a week or so after we were back to notice it was there!

and i haven't stopped making waffles since

so...

i was going to do a post today about my hunny bunny cause i love him so so very much 

but

he asked me not to

so i'll post what we ate the other night:
