my chicago weekend via blackberry

just popping in real quick you let you know about my weekend in chicago

i'll post more about the graduation when i get the pics from my father-in-law

bags packed ready to go!

the super cute hangers at the navy gateway inn and suites! oh my gosh! and can i just say comfiest bed ever! seriously though it was like sleeping on a cloud

hubs in in there somewhere! you have no idea how excited i was to see him! (and how hard it was to sit there for an hour and a half and not just run up and give him a hug)

at this ice cream place in great lakes...i was NOT playing lol!

at the airport waiting to send my sailor off to TX! ...at 3 am

ma sent me this...i missed my little punkin!

so when i made my flight/hotel reservations i wasn't sure when hubs was leaving and i wasn't planning on moving to texas then so i wanted to make sure i didn't leave before him so i could give him his phone (you had to do it at the airport) so he left at like 6am saturday morning and my flight wasn't until 10pm sunday night

luckily one of my best friend's boyfriends is in the navy and is stationed at great lakes!

we'll anyway he was super nice cause i had met him only once before (for like 2 mins) and he entertained me all saturday and sunday!

we went to a white sox game, for free! (technically i wasn't supposed to be free, only active duty military, but we said military tickets and showed my ID and i think the lady felt bad for us lol!)

on sunday we ate breakfast at this totally scrummy place in this cute little town (sorry i scarfed it down before i got any pics) then went for a walk through the town and on this little nature trail waiting for the train to get there

driver: they have a six flags in california?

me: ya, there's two

driver: no shit!?

me: yep, one in LA and one in the bay area

driver: so that (the six flags there) wasn't exciting for you?

me: oh no, there's lots of theme parks in california

driver: damn! they open year round?

me: uh...they sure are...

lol!

and as wet as we look in this picture it wasn't really rainy until about 5 min before this picture

then the monsoon hit.


normally i go for the princess look and wear a tiara but after getting the minnie mouse bride ears on our honeymoon i decided minnie mouse ears were the way to go

oh! and if you look closely you'll notice that hubby isn't wearing his wedding ring

he left it in the bathroom of the hotel.

the maid stole it.

the only thing that gives me any satisfaction is it was titanium and worth basically nothing

anyway disneyland was amazing as always

i mean, it's the happiest place on earth! who wouldn't love it there?



oh...and don't worry, we got hubs a new ring

honeymoon

So since i got all of the wedding posts done i can finally post about the honeymoon

we were lucky enough that my parents have a time share that you can move around and their wedding gift to us was a week of it! we were originally going to go to cabo to the same resort we went to in cancun the year before, but we werent able to book that hotel again and we realized that we probably couldnt afford a plane ticket and definitely couldnt afford to rent a car (since neither of us are 25)

so we looked at all the places we could drive to and decided on del mar, california (near san diego) which was perfect because i desperately wanted to go to disneyland and get bride ears!

i honestly didnt take that many pictures...i was having too much fun!

but heres a few that i have:

this was the first full day, we walked along the beach a bit

the second day we went to disneyland! disneyland is one of my favorite places to go and ive always wanted to get those bride ears when i got married

this is how i know my husband loves me...i didnt even beg him to wear these, in fact, i didnt even ask him cause i figured he wouldnt, when we were driving to del mar i told him how excited i was to get bride ears to which he proceeded to say, "i dont have to wear them do i?" and i said, "i guess not, but youll wear the just married button (which you cant really see in this picture) right?" he said yes and the conversation was over

then...about and hour later its totally quiet and hubby pipes up with "i guess i could wear some ears for you"

i was so excited! it basically made my life!

we ate at the blue bayou restaurant, its the one you see inside pirates of the Caribbean and ive always wanted to eat there

we were seated right on the water and they even gave us free dessert!

(i think its cause when i called a week ahead to book our reservation they asked if it was a celebration and i told them it was our honeymoon :)

we actually only went to the beach (in swimsuits and all) one day!

i know crazy! cause we love the beach!

it was really foggy, which would normally be sad but it was so hot at home when we left that we were glad for the cool weather

anyway i finally brought my camera to take some pictures

i dont normally wear one piece suits, but i had been wanting a cute one

it was such a fun trip! we ate lots of yummy food and did lots of shopping and went for a ton of walks on the beach!

hubby even golfed at torrey pines...this was his disneyland

flashback: bachelorette party

i know i already posted about the wedding, but...

this was the whole gang at dinner. we went to this yummy steak place and they even bought my dinner :)

this was someone who happened to be doing a vow renewal the same night (and wearing her dress from 25 years ago)

with my family (two littles and grand little) and two of my bridesmaids

since most of the people who came were under 21 we went here (it was actually a surprise to me...they just drove me there, though i did figure it out pretty soon on the way...there's not much out there :)

so after dinner we went back to the hotel to drink and play some games then went to the casino

when we got there we had to go on a mission to find a bandaid (i had a blister) we find someone and i guess he told us we had to fill out some paperwork to which my little sis replied "honey, we don't need to call 911, she has a blister" hahaha followed by "what do we have to do to get a bandaid? do i need to buy one, i can buy one" haha so the guy took us to the gift shop and becca bought me some bandaids

thanks little! haha!

but here are my thanksgiving decorations

i must admit it is difficult for me to not just skip thanksgiving and move on to christmas cause i love it so much

...but i do try to restrain myself

( i did however go crazy on the christmas decorating as soon as i got back to town...i just couldnt contain myself any longer)

i had a fabulous thanksgiving and ate far too much good food!

we traveled to my aunts for thanksgiving

they live out in the country so hubbers had some fun shooting guns with my cousin

i made this delicious pie! i make it every year its to die for! this year i even made my own graham cracker crust cause i wanted to you my pie plate! it was super easy and so yummy (unfortunatly we devoured it before i thought to take a pic...oh well, just shows how good it is)

i did end up doing some shopping on black friday (not really my thing)

but it wasnt until about noon, and only cause we went to visit these lil punkins and mr. big punkin wanted to go to the "robot store" aka target :)

hope your thanksgiving was filled with family, friends, yummy food

so ive been gone forever! but i have lots of updates on the way! as this week was my spring break ill start with the travel update...
