so i havent been around...

i just havent really had much to say

and ive been kind of busy

but mostly i just havent been in the mood to go on the computer...which is weird, cause i go on the computer multiple times a day, and i have hardly touched the thing in a week

so before i got catch up on all your lovely blogs i have to tell you about the amazing deal i got at safeway the other day...

so i stroll down the cereal aisle and i see these signs that say buy 2 get 3 free

buy 2 get 3. free.

i literally stared at it for 5 mins to make sure i was reading it right and it didnt say get 3rd free 

while i was doing this a lady came up and did the same thing ha!

so instead of being $4.50 each they were $1.80!

crazy right?

these were the ones on sale (plus a couple others):

can you believe i got all these boxes for $9?

and

see those coupons on the boxes that say save $1 on fresh fruit? well that was if you bought two kelloggs cereals, and since i technically bought 5 (even though i only payed for 2) i was able to used two of the coupons and get these strawberries for $.50 each

oatmeal two ways

with maple syrup, almonds, and dried blueberries

and with brown sugar and walnuts

i had the former, hubbers had the later

we had some yummy oatmeal yesterday, i though about doing an oatmeal bar and putting all the topping options in little bowls and containers but

1. there are a lot of options

and

2. my husband would think im a weirdo

maybe i'll do it anyway someday...he thinks im a weirdo anyway

on saturday

i went with my family to see this...

we like to take pictures under the lights

going to the nutcracker has started to become a tradition (we did not intend on matching last year)

i loved my outfit especially my hair

particularly because of the giant bow

my dad came along this year which made it much more amusing

at "half-time" aka intermission we had to explain to him the whole story which he somehow missed

and earlier we were discussing the long dance that the sugar plum fairy has with her cavalier...it seriously goes on forever

anyway i inform them that its a pas de deux and thats just what they are

and when my mom inquires as to what that is exactly my dad chimes in with "so its a pot of deuh?"

and then when the dance was taking place my mom leans over and tells him "this is the pas de deux" to which he replies

"dont curse me"

bahahaha

anyway then we went to mels (which has become part of the tradition)

meatloaf: the only thing my sister orders at this place, shes a strange one

and we took scary face pictures

nearly midnight adventures

so i come home from work last night and had a discussion with hubby as to how many calories are in the beers he was drinking (he's trying to lose weight) and after a breif discussion i decided to look it up, needless to say it was a lot

...so i tell hubby thats probably more than a hamburger and proceed to look up the calories for mcdonalds burgers, and come to find out he could of ate a big mac!

...then i get the bright idea that i want a big mac so we drive to THREE different mcdonalds at 11:30pm till we found one open

...i probably should have seen that as a sing that i sure as heck didnt need a big mac at 11:30...but it sure was delicious

lets start with waffles

so i have a LOT to catch up on... the wedding, honeymoon, bridal shower, shopping, crafting, cooking, and everything else from the summer

...but im starting with waffles! yum!

hubbers and i LOVE waffles and we've been using this baby almost everyday... seriously

we received the waffle maker from one of my best friends and old room mate. it was actually a little surprise because it had com in the mail while we were on our honeymoon and when my mother-in-law brought it inside a cabinet got put on top of it (more on that later) and it took me about a week or so after we were back to notice it was there!

and i haven't stopped making waffles since

so...

i was going to do a post today about my hunny bunny cause i love him so so very much 

but

he asked me not to

so i'll post what we ate the other night:

for the love of martha?

every now and then we get an extra channel that will be availabel for a while then go away...right now its my current fav, the style network (though it was much better circa 2004-2006)

anyway, we had the fine living network for a while where i discovered my new favorite show...

...Whatever, Martha?!!!!!

it is probably the funniest show i have ever seen! if you havent seen it you should really check it out (there are a couple segments on youtube)

My mother, sister, and i looked forward to it every week! and when they had to tape it for me cause i had class we would watch the tape over and over because it was so funny!

if you dont know the concept of the show basically martha's daughter and friend watch segments of martha stewart living and comment about every thing from what martha is wearing to what they presume her to be thinking and much more...it's hysterical i swear!

one episode they watched a segment of martha making a caesar salad...it looked delicious so baby sis and i gave it a try one night
i found the recipe online and it was quite delicious... the only thing we didnt do was make our own croutons, we were going to but we were too hungry to wait so we bought some fresh made at whole foods and figured it was close enough

so i LOVE corn bread muffins, and the best part about them is the WONDERFUL vintagey looking box it comes in...so much cooler than all the other muffin and cupcake boxes...i know...im such a little kid...choosing the food based on the box, but these really are amazing!

And for the picture of the day...ta da the corn bread muffins!  

The reason they are glossy looking is cause i put a sugar glaze on the ones in the picture.  why? you ask...because

A. im big on sweets, but more importantly

B. i am first and foremost a photographer, and they were so much more photogenic (if muffins can be photogenic) this way

*as for the picture of the day, this is a very daunting task, but im trying to challenge myself, i was going to do pic of the week, but hopefully this will get me started on all the work i have to do because between all of my classes i should have like 50 pictures of the day, and i think im ready for a chllange...we'll see...
